- VIKRAM GOYAL X NILUFAR
Bio
Vikram Goyal Studio is pleased to announce its presence at PAD Design + Art, London — marking its third participation — represented by the renowned collectible design gallery, NILUFAR.
Known for its mastery in metal and contemporary interpretations of traditional Indian techniques, the Studio presents a captivating series of limited-edition pieces that pushes the
boundaries of Indian craftsmanship and materiality at Booth C14.
Spanning lighting, mirrors, and furniture, the collection introduces the Bagh series, inspired by the flora of India’s historic gardens. Balancing the floral decorative pieces are a series of architectural forms, further anchoring the presentation. The Palazzo console and the Grand Castello console are accompanied by the sculptural Mesa cabinet.
Monumental and visceral, the furniture demonstrate the Studio’s continuing evolution in repoussé, hollowed joinery, and sculptural cladding techniques.
At the heart of the booth are the rippling forms of the Thar wall sconces inspired by desert topographies. The work extends 16 feet across one wall and continues 9 feet along the adjacent
surface. Presented in both patinated brass and—for the first time—nickel, the sconce reflects the Studio’s growing interest in experimenting with finishes that can shape mood and aesthetic.
Each work is a collaboration between designer and artisan — an interplay of vision, material, and mastery. “For me, craft is not just about preservation — it’s a space of imagination. I’m constantly drawn to the tension between memory and modernity, tradition and abstraction” shares Vikram Goyal.
“Exploring the nickel finish has opened up new aesthetic possibilities, allowing the work to feel both timeless and unexpected.”
