The BRAZIL MODERNIST / Pereira & Matis Gallery, founded by the Franco-Brazilian duo Caroliny Pereira and Vladimir Matis, is dedicated to Brazilian collectible design. Based between Paris and São Paulo, the gallery offers an exclusive selection of pieces by the masters of Brazilian modernism, such as Joaquim Tenreiro, Jorge Zalszupin, Lina Bo Bardi, José Zanine Caldas, and Carlo Hauner.
For this edition of PAD, the gallery highlights contemporary designers from the Brazilian scene, including Juliana Vasconcellos and Tiago Braga, with new pieces such as the “Arandu Estelar” series, inspired by the organic shapes of clouds and the worldview of the Guarani indigenous people. Comprising over 300 petals made from pure wool, felted and hand-sewn, this collection showcases renewable and biodegradable natural resources.
Brazil Modernist also presents the ceramics from the “Erosão” collection by the duo Nicole & Luiza Toldi. These unique porcelain pieces, sculpted from natural materials and ashes, reveal organic forms created by fire.
