For Paris Design Week, the maison parisienne gallery is spotlighting Pierre Renart, a designer and cabinetmaker who combines traditional woodworking skills with innovative technologies.
For this event, Pierre Renart took over the Cour de l’Intendant de l’Hôtel de la Marine, with an original piece: “Escale”, a hammock composed of 7 hornbeam slats evoking the artist’s Fusion collection and inspired by Hugh Dutton’s glass roof.
With its spectacular dimensions, this creation revisits Pierre Renart’s training in seat joinery at the École Boulle, and confronts the grandeur of the Hôtel de la Marine, former Garde-Meuble of the Crown in the 18th century.
