MAY – MAYLIS ET CHARLES TASSIN

Bio

Maylis and Charles Tassin met in 2008. He, an interior architect, collaborates with some of France’s finest artisans to create bespoke furniture. She, a trained painter, turned toward the decorative arts and built a network of craftspeople across France.

In 2012, they founded Galerie MAY on rue de Lille in Paris. There, they present unique interiors that blend their furniture creations with antiques and works by emerging artists. Inspired by the designers of the 1940s and deeply attached to the Decorative Arts of the 20th century, they reinterpret traditional French craftsmanship — marquetry, lacquer, and ceramics — in a style that is contemporary, elegant, and bold.

Their pieces, conceived as true “antiques of the future,” integrate seamlessly into both classic and modern interiors. At the crossroads of art furniture and collectible design, their creations embody a relaxed yet glamorous vision of French elegance.

Today, Maylis and Charles Tassin exhibit their work in three spaces on rue de Lille, where they share, by appointment, their French art de vivre.
