To coincide with Paris Design Week 2025, which runs from September 4 to 13, maison parisienne gallery presents Coraux de la Liberté.
This monumental installation by textile artist Aude Franjou takes place at the heart of the July Column on Place de la Bastille in Paris.
Composed of hundreds of linen-fibre coral branches, the work rises from the vaults to the top of the rotunda. A chromatic gradation guides the eye, from the immaculate white of the devitalized corals to a deep red, embodying their regeneration.
Coraux de la Liberté, like an immersive reef, pays homage to the history of this monument to water and freedom, and bears witness to an artistic feat, the fruit of more than six months’ sculptural work by hand.
Through her textile sculptures, Aude Franjou explores organic growth, resilience and the silent force of living things, between art, ecology and memory.
