Galerie Flak, located 8 rue des Beaux-Arts in Paris, is pleased to present for the 2022 edition of the PAD Paris Art + Design a selection of ancient art from Oceania, North America and Africa.
Ancient arts of Oceania, Africa and North America are redolent with poetry, power and mystery. These faraway arts were already celebrated a century ago by the Surrealists and artists of the avant-garde.
At PAD Paris, the Galerie Flak will present a selection of ancient ritual sculptures and masks from around the globe on the theme of the invisible and the sacred.
This exhibition will highlight Kachina dolls from the Hopi people of Arizona with their dreamlike and colorful symbolism, ancestor figures and spirit boards from the South Pacific, African masks imbued with magic and strength, and Eskimo shamanic figures excavated from the frozen ground of the Far North in Alaska.
