Laffanour Galerie Downtown : mobilier d\u2019architectes<\/h1>\n

Depuis son ouverture au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1980, la Galerie Downtown, cr\u00e9\u00e9e par Fran\u00e7ois Laffanour, a explor\u00e9, montr\u00e9 au fil de ses expositions, et r\u00e9habilit\u00e9 un domaine peu connu alors, celui du mobilier d\u2019architectes du XXe si\u00e8cle.\u00a0Cr\u00e9ateurs<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 architectes pour la plupart \u2013 europ\u00e9ens et am\u00e9ricains qui, au lendemain de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, ont apport\u00e9 une autre conception dans l\u2019art de se meubler, dict\u00e9e par un besoin de libert\u00e9 et d\u2019efficacit\u00e9, au service d\u2019un nouvel art de vivre dans une \u00e9poque de d\u00e9veloppement technologique et scientifique. La Galerie Downtown poss\u00e8de et travaille \u00e0 partir des\u00a0archives de la galerie Steph Simon<\/a>\u00a0qui, de 1956 \u00e0 1974, pr\u00e9sentait et \u00e9ditait le mobilier de\u00a0Charlotte Perriand<\/a>,\u00a0Jean Prouv\u00e9<\/a>,\u00a0Le Corbusier<\/a>,\u00a0Serge Mouille<\/a>,\u00a0Georges Jouve<\/a>\u00a0ou encore\u00a0Isamu Noguchi<\/a>. Depuis 2004, la Galerie Downtown a l\u2019exclusivit\u00e9 pour les meubles de\u00a0Ron Arad<\/a>\u00a0en France.<\/p>\n

Since its opening in the early 80s, the Gallery Downtown, created by Fran\u00e7ois Laffanour, has explored, shown through its exhibitions, and rehabilitated a field little known at the time: the 20th century furnitures made by architects.\u00a0Creators\u00a0\u2013 mostly architects \u2013 Europeans and Americans who, after the Second World War, brought another conception in the art of furnishing oneself, dictated by a need for freedom and efficiency, at the service of a new art of living in an era of technological and scientific development. The Downtown gallery owns and works from the\u00a0Galerie Steph Simon archives\u00a0which, from 1956 to 1974, represented the furniture of\u00a0Charlotte Perriand,\u00a0Jean Prouv\u00e9,\u00a0Le Corbusier,\u00a0Serge Mouille,\u00a0Georges Jouve\u00a0or\u00a0Isamu Noguchi.
