{"id":17947,"date":"2019-09-19T18:06:34","date_gmt":"2019-09-19T17:06:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/paris\/?post_type=exhibitor&#038;p=17947"},"modified":"2026-02-18T14:13:13","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T14:13:13","slug":"jousse-entreprise","status":"publish","type":"exhibitor","link":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/en\/exhibitor\/jousse-entreprise\/","title":{"rendered":"JOUSSE ENTREPRISE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Philippe Jousse first used his eye in the field of photography (in particular he was Guy Bourdin\u2019s occasional assistant).\u00a0 Shortly thereafter, he discovered the work of Jean Prouv\u00e9 and developed a passionate interest in post-war furniture.\u00a0 In the early 1980s, he gave up all his other activities and became involved in promoting, among an early generation of art lovers and collectors, artists who were then forgotten about or overlooked: Jean Prouv\u00e9, Charlotte Perriand, Alexandre Noll, Jean Roy\u00e8re, Mathieu Mat\u00e9got, Pierre Jeanneret, Georges Jouve, Serge Mouille\u2026 who had all absorbed and transformed the legacy of modernism and Le Corbusier.\u00a0 After a few years spent working among ever more informed connoisseurs, in 1987 Philippe Jousse organized an ambitious project :\u00a0 the first retrospective exhibition of the work Charlotte Perriand, accompanied by a publication.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, Philippe Jousse has consistently played an essential role in the development of the tastes and likings of private collectors and museums, French and foreign alike, in favour of the modernity of that period.\u00a0 He also became interested in younger artists, particularly in the field of ceramics, such as Kristin McKirdy and Emmanuel Boos.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1990s, Philippe Jousse became increasingly interested in contemporary art and started to use his gallery to exhibit young French and foreign artists in their 30s.\u00a0 In 2000, he opened a new gallery where these two passionate interests developed equally.\u00a0 In it, he gave vent to his guiding idea by representing a link between the creation of objects and art, now no longer perceived as different or contradictory spheres.\u00a0 The gallery became a bridge, a laboratory in which a dialogue was introduced and tested.<\/p>\n<p>In 2002, Matthias Jousse joined the gallery where he championed major names of the 1970s by organizing exhibitions of artists such as Michel Boyer, Atelier A, Roger Tallon, Maria Pergay, Pierre Paulin, Philippon\/Lecoq\u2026<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Galerie Jousse Entreprise<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":707,"menu_order":61,"template":"","exhibitor_category":[155],"class_list":["post-17947","exhibitor","type-exhibitor","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","pad_fair-paris","exhibitor_category-historical-design","exhibitor_country-france"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/exhibitor\/17947","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/exhibitor"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/exhibitor"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/707"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/28282"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=17947"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"exhibitor_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.padesignart.com\/en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/exhibitor_category?post=17947"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
